Two Ways to Extend the SF-25NB: Tungsten Carbide Rolls and PLC Glue Automation
Beyond its standard configuration, the SF-25NB can be specified with two factory options that address common pain points in high-volume corrugating operations. The first is a tungsten carbide corrugating roll upgrade, replacing the standard Ni-Cr-Mo alloy roll with a harder-wearing surface built for demanding board grades or continuous high-volume production runs where roll wear becomes a recurring maintenance cost. The second option is a PLC auto glue mixing device, which manages glue quantity automatically rather than relying on manual adjustment. This system can link into the corrugator line's main control architecture, automatically adjusting glue volume based on paper grade and running speed—reducing glue waste, minimizing starved-bond defects, and cutting down on the trial-and-error that often accompanies grade changes. Both options build on the SF-25NB's standard feature set, which already includes pneumatic roll control, digital micro-gap adjustment, and integrated pre-heating for liner and medium. For plant managers evaluating total cost of ownership rather than just upfront price, these upgrades are worth weighing against expected production mix and roll replacement cycles.
