I began mining after having completed all the quests for RuneScape gold free. After becoming a member I reached the age of 71. I was disappointed to find that mining was the top money-making skill. It is a terrible thing!

Although I am not an expert in economics, I know it will fall below 2m because Dragon axe measures 2m and is much more difficult to obtain.
It is rare to have an employer drop the pickaxe at such a remote location. I guess this pickaxe will rise a bit to around 5m or so in the next few days, and then hopefully drop back to below 2m (To a price a poor novice like me could pay for) as soon as I join again if I pay the next day! A better ping will enable you to click faster than someone who has more responsive. Iron mining is an example of this. Although most people are able to hit the rock with one hand the one who has the fastest reaction time and the most efficient ping will prevail.
The lower the ping the better. It's easy to see how it could be unfair to someone with a poor internet connection. The most important thing to keep in mind is the location. Your ping will be more effective when you're near the site.
In general, it is possible to make your connection faster by reducing traffic flow on your computer. This means removing unnecessary applications that consume bandwidth or consume excessive computer power (RAM, processor, etc). It will be faster if you use more computer power.
I think they're implementing something like unlagged Quake3. It basically offsets your reaction time against all other people's in a synchronous fashion and you don't feel any differences. This is how I've experienced it. I'm not sure how it works.
