There have been plenty of people calling for to come to Game Pass since the acquisition was announced in the last week however it's not the present World of Warcraft players hoping for a discount who are the biggest factors here. Much like the rest game on Game Pass, it's the non-professional player browsing through Game Pass's library which can really boost the game's participation in the community.
If you have an Game Pass membership, how many times have your scrolled through the game tiles, found something that seemed interesting, and downloaded it without even so much as thinking about it? How many times did that game end in becoming the game you played for the next several weeks? The barriers to entry become virtually impossible with Game Pass, and the potential for playing on a hobby-level on World of Warcraft is extremely large. I should know, as prior to kicking the habit (it truly was an addiction for me and I'm not joining any new players this time) I played practically all other games for the past two years. I didn't have money for other games besides WoW, also Game Pass didn't exist yet in order to allow me to investigate other possibilities.
For Game Pass we go
This "bring World of Warcraft to Game Pass" talk sounds fantastic, but there's a limitation: it only makes sense when you play players on the PC version. World of Warcraft has never come to consoles, and Microsoft's acquisition could appear like the ideal time to bring the game to Xbox. However, it comes with its own set of financial costs in the process of porting the game, but there is no guarantee that it will be a success as the PC version and the challenge of creating a game that works between console and PC. With PC gamers accounting for more than 1 billion people in the world so why not try to squeeze the game on another platform?
Luckily, Microsoft seems to understand that some games are just not supposed to be on the console with . It's no surprise that the Age of Empires series has been reviving in recent times, with Age of Empires IV releasing in the late 2021. But the game was only made available exclusively for PC due to the fact that that's how it works.
