Barnett was the main focus of offensive lines that  were battling each other the past two seasons and that did not slow him down in any way." -- Learn More on Rocky Top Talk

His ability to rush passes have earned him the status of a first-rounder however there are many questions he'll need to be able to answer when he becomes a professional. Barnett's game is based on his athleticism, however his performance at the Madden NFL 24 Combine suggests that he's likely to struggle against an elite group of offensive linemen when he becomes professional leagues. Madden NFL 24 Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah may have said the right thing when it comes about Barnett's potential.

"(Barnett) doesn't have the elite burst, that energy that you'd like in an edge-rusher," Barnett said on the Move the Sticks podcast. "I was with Terrell Suggs for a while with the Ravens and another player who didn't really test well. However, he was fast enough to get on the football field. I'm sure you'll see some similar things in Barnett. I don't believe he's at the Suggs level however, I believe Barnett has a good chance to become a double-digit sack player at the next level."

One positive aspect is his performance in the face of SEC opponents. Barnett was known for beginning slow in Tennessee however, he usually reserved his best performances for crucial conference matches -- and also the top offensive teams that the Volunteers faced. Although even an Alabama team is a vast away from a Madden NFL 24 version but it's still a good sign.

What will Barnett have to do in order to succeed in the Eagles?

He'll need to improve his speed-rush techniques while adding some new tricks to be able to compete with Madden NFL 24 offensive linemen. The SB Nation's Stephen White points out that an improved inside movewhether it's punching tackles in the back, working through the gap, or creating an angle to redirect his speed towards the pocket after taking his first 2 steps could create a nightmare for blocking opponents.

At the moment the smart tackles are able to cheat because his primary strategy is to slash the edge. A slap on a similarly strong inside rush could take the advantage -- and increase his speed rush while doing it.

There are a few elite pass rushers in the league and the cost for their production is high. Chandler Jones signed a five-year, $83.5 million deal to remain in Arizona during the offseason. Jason Pierre-Paul signed a new contract with the Giants for $62 million over the course of four years. Barnett in his rookie season, in contrast, could be able to get somewhere in the range of $10 million to $12 million during the initial 4 seasons in his career.

It's a bargain if the impressive speed rush is able to hold up in the face of Madden NFL 24 tackles.

Barnett was perhaps the most prolific lineman from Tennessee and that's not even including Reggie White, a Hall of Inductee. The Eagles are hoping that he will make a little bit of that for them during the Madden NFL 24.

Christian McCaffrey adds an explosive energy to the Panthers offense.

The Panthers offense is now much more exciting since the team took on Christian McCaffrey with the No. 8 overall pick during the 2017 Madden NFL 24 selection.

McCaffrey's college resume is the most impressive of the entire class of draft. At Stanford McCaffrey set the record for all-purpose yards during the 2015 season with 2.019 rushing and receiving, 645 receiving, 1.070 kick returns, and 130 punt returns.

The feat was sufficient to win him the title of 2015 Pac-12 offensive player of the Year award and close enough to win the Heisman Trophy. Although his stats weren't as impressive during 2016. the defender still was able to be the top player in the country in all-purpose yards, despite having more than 1.000 yards less than the season prior. What made Carolina choose McCaffrey?

The big numbers at  the college level don't necessarily mean that you're a successful Madden NFL 24 player.
