The pre-patch for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic Edition will be live on Tuesday, August 30, 2022!
Players can expect the update to be in-game following the weekly reset maintenance, which is scheduled to begin at 10AM EST and end at 6PM EST. The length of this server downtime is a rough estimate based on previous releases, meaning servers can come online before or after the time Blizzard has allotted.

Pre-patch activities
Zombie Infection and Scourge Invasion
During the zombie invasion, there will be plenty of content for players to interact with. This includes new quests, new merchants, new items, new bosses in Karazhan, and several new bosses in select dungeons of Azeroth.
The event takes place in stages, starting with Stage 1, Trouble in Booty Bay, and ending with Stage 5, Darkest Hour.
It's a fun little event that players will stick around until WotLK is officially released, and it's a unique event that players don't want to miss!

With the release of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion on September 26, here's a brief timeline of what to expect in the WotLK pre-patch for World of Warcraft Classic in the coming weeks.
August 30
Pre-Patch Begins: Wrath of the Lich King pre-patch release and Fresh Start Realms are live during regional maintenance.
September 6-13
Zombie Plague Event: A mysterious pain begins to spread across the capital. Players must remain vigilant so as not to fall victim to its deadly effects.
September 13
Scourge Invasion Event: In multiple locations on Azeroth, players must coordinate defensive positions against the attacking Necropolis and defeat Scourge troops for great rewards.
September 20 to October 6
Wine Fest Begins: Do you love eating delicious fair food, drinking rich beverages, and riding rams around apple barrels? Participate in events and timed events to earn Brewfest memorabilia and achievements in this Brewfest holiday event.
September 26
Classic Wrath of the Lich King released: At 3:00 pm PDT, the classic version of Wrath of the Lich King will be launched soon, players are welcome to log in.
