See, not all Madden NFL 24 football game is going to be a 54- 51 game. The "defense is dead and will never be returned" crowd had to bring it down on Thursday as we saw many turnovers and defense yesterday on Turkey Day. Let's break it all down.
Offense was not mandatory in Detroit early in the game.
Lots of punts and lots of defense. Not too shocking. We know the Bears have an excellent defense and they were starting Chase Daniel, a backup quarterback making his first appearance since 2014. on the road and on one of their short weeks. The Lions offensive line has been a struggle this season with strong defenses. Detroit wasn't without Kerryon Johnson this week, too. It turned out to be Bears 9-7 at the half. It was 16-16 at the end of the 4th quarter . A second choice six for Bears security Eddie Jackson helped them win the game 23-16.
There are a few lessons to be learned in this particular game. The first is that I've always been hesitant to jump on the Bears trend because there's an aspect that I'm not convinced of concerning Mitch Trubisky. The Bears are the best team in the opening part of the game, even better in the first quarter. They've led at halftime in every game played until they lose their momentum in the later half.
Do you think that's because Trubisky's off his opening script and/or Matt Nagy is off his script, which makes them less efficient? I'm inclined to believe that it's because of Trubisky being off as he's shown at times that he's prone to miss throws that are easy. Even as good as the Bears defense is, in 2018 your quarterback as well as your offense must be playing at a high level to be successful in the playoffs.
But I do think that it's now the time to get behind the Bears which are a year away from real Super Bowl contention. The Lions aren't exactly alive at the moment but Chicago played on the road against a division foe with an alternate quarterback on one week, and took the win. That's huge. Washington wouldn't be able to do that.
