View all 76 stories Browns Wide receiver Jordan Cameron: Don't blame Jason Campbell for recent struggles
Cleveland Browns receiver Jordan Cameron claims it's the focus of defenses that aren't as good as theirs, rather than issues with quarterback Jason Campbell that has slowed his speed in recent weeks, according to Jordan Cameron, reported by Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
"I have to improve my speed and need to find a way to be open",'' stated Cameron. "I need to try to join the team and contribute more. I have to perform better and contribute to the team and do what I can to support this team. This is my aim.''
The third-year receiver had a breakout season in 2013 but his numbers have started to decrease significantly over the last two weeks, with the new quarterback Jason Campbell targeting Cameron just 18 times over the past three games. Cameron has had 45 catches and 515 yards and six touchdowns in the first seven games of this season, has just seven receptions for 33 yards over the last two games.
Cameron, who had been emerging as a big-play threat for the offensively-challenged Browns this season, says that defenses are rolling coverage his way and are now limiting his effectiveness downfield. Cameron is a young receiver who says that it's his job to try harder and beat the coverage and isn't worried about the chemistry he has with his starting quarterback.
"I don't believe that it's Jason not at all",'' Cameron stated. "They're blocking you on the first level, and then somebody hitting you on the second level. So it's just a little more difficult to chemistry with the route. The timing of the route is slightly off."

The Denver Broncos may be without safety Rahim Moore for the rest of the season , after the defensive back who was in his third season underwent emergency surgery on Monday after he was diagnosed with an lateral compartment disorder in his lower left leg in the words of Joan Niesen and Mike Klis of The Denver Post.
Moore 23. who was 23 years old, left the team's win on Sunday over the Kansas City Chiefs with a leg injury, which was described as "serious," although specifics and a timeframe were not available at the time of the game. This past Tuesday The Denver Post broke down what exactly lateral compartment syndrome means:
Compartment Syndrome occurs when a muscle - that's essentially a compartment that is between two fasciae, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles - starts to swell. The swelling is not stopped and it continues, eventually limiting blood flow to the muscles and causing nerve damage.
One day removed from surgery The Broncos haven't decided on an expected timeframe for recovering Moore and are contemplating placing him on the injury reserve.
